Ive got two sets of tyres, one road set 265x17x8 with standard gu rims, and wheelin set is 35x12.5x15 with maximum offset. my prob is that the wheelin set stick out two or three inchs, and therefore are deemed illegal.
My question is does anyone stock any aftermarket guards i can take the old ones off and replace them with?
i have the moulds and can make you a pair of ice lantic flares for a gu about 5 ' wide. can fit huge offset wheels on. also for any body else i do GQ icelantic flares and GQ guards as well.
im interested in giantracings flares, however no offence mate but thats pretty pricy -1500 for a set of 4 that will be the easiest thing to break on the rig??
are there any cheaper options on the market?
i know the black rubber suggestions you guys are giving, and usually id do that but i think the gu needs something more
ive used 300mm rolls of vineydex and cut it down to suit they use it as danger tape of the top of cables berried in trenchers. been on the truck for 3 years easy to use havnt broken one yet. get it from construction sites.
i custom ordered the max offset to lower the centre of gravity, thus the chance of rolling.
i knew they would stick out, but no where near as much as they do. its only on the wheelin set anyway, its getting from my house to the bush legally with them on thats the problem

don't know if thats for a wagon but for my ute i had to replace one of mine and it cost $400
Yeh GU IV and newer front flares are $700 from Nissan @ insurance company prices. Not including the little rubber trim strip which is colour specific or the little clips.

Your tyres are illegal anyway - why bother with the flares??
Good point. I run 36" Pedes on mine for wheelin' on 1" offset and they stick out, but the tyres are more than 3 inches past being legal anway. Your F*cked either way!

if they are fiberglass you can fix them easy enough. Glass is good to work with.
Then make your own mould off them and make a few sets to save yourself bux when you wanna replace them.
If you think you can sell them cheaper, then make some money that way to offset the original cost.

Moulds are very time consuming to make and very labour intensive, and there genuine parts so they can charge what they want.
Gee, I should speak with Vince off patrol forum. he works for company that makes parts for holden and ford... eg the engine covers and shit..
hes the manager of the tool shop
