Has anybody got a source for what model/year Vitaras had what diffs in them please ?

Still lots of arguements going on about this one since no-one seems to have backed it up with proof.
Early Vitara (manuals) seem to be pretty much all 5.125. There are some EFI LWB ones with 4.625's and 4.875's, although there seems also to be earlier LWB's also with 5.125's.
Later Vitaras seemed to be more the 4.6's and 4.8s... except the softtop/swb which was pretty much 5.125 right thru.
Then we have GV V6's and all that, and autos in there too.
I have a manual and that doesn't even tell me either, and some of the data you find oin the internet is uesless due to international models having different specs :(
Rule of thumb - bigger car, longer diff ratios. Auto - longer diff ratios.
Without some magic or a rockhopper 31"s are still gonna be a gearing ptoblem unless you get a V6 one.

So an automatic 1.6 Soft-top Grand Vitara would be 4.6 maybe?
