I need some feedback from you guys in regards to giving the ol feroza a helping hand to get up. I have been quoted $1300 for a 2 inch lift installed and wanted to get the feel if this was a competitive quote. Bearing in mind south west WA is not a haven of suspension options!
I have also a set of 16 inch rims and wondered what the would be the best size tyre to tread that fine line between gaining traction and losing power.
I have also been told that to lift that high will make the vehicle highly unstable, but there seems to far to many ferozas out there with a lift kit to say other wise

cant help you with the pricing sorry altho $1300 to my mind seems a little steep, is that a quote for a suspention lift or a body lift?? body lifts are easy to do and mine cost me less that $120 NZ however i did the lift myself so no labour costs. the suspention lift cost me about $30 and that was for welding rods to make up a new extenteded set of shackles and a couple of cans of WD40 to free up the Lock nuts on the torsion bar f$%# me if they arnt tight on these babys. oh and i reused my existing shocks as they where in good conditionulesys wrote:I need some feedback from you guys in regards to giving the ol feroza a helping hand to get up. personally and other will disagree no doubt but ive found the best size tyre for MY Fez is a 235x75x15 Mud grip type, the 75 comes in at around 29 1/4 inches .. doesnt suck the power out of the poor little motor, keeps the speedo "somewhat" accurate give me excellent traction in mud and because of my Fez's light weight (1300kg) excellent in sand .. the only letdown in soft sand is the lack of power from the motor and thats the main reason i dont run bigger diameter tyres. ive had 30's and 31's on mine (borrowed from mates Zooks etc) the 31's just sucks way too much power when running on the beach in 4wd high ... basically i had to run everywhere in 4wd Low while on the 31's ... both the 30's and 31's made a huge differance to fuel ecconomy IE Crap! with the 29's on it now my Fez consistantly returns around 10 k/l
a 2 inch lift does not make your vehicle highly unstable ....mine currently sits about 3 1/2 inches higher than factory (swapping the factory 27" tyres for 29" (1 1/2 inch gain) plus a 1 inch suspention lift and a 1 inch body lift = close to 4 inches higher) admititally i run offset rims off a zook that increase my wheel track by a good 60mm (just have to keep a close eye on wheel bearing doing that) ive found that the Mighty Fez seems quite stable just take it easy on the corners (as you should in ANY 4wd )

I have a 2 inch suspension lift on my feroza and it's one of the best things i've done! It does not make it unstable at all. It actually drives a lot better as the standard feroza suspension is not the best.
$1300 is a very good price but it seems a little too cheap and might not include everything you need.
As well as the rear leaves, you should also get torsion bars instead of simply winding yours, and new shocks all round.

I have 5cm body lift kit, 6cm trailmaster lift kit and 235/75/15 tyres on alloy wheels. Wheels are moved to out by 5cm, so the fez is 10cm wider. In front there is a cheap chinese snorkel and mile marker M8000 winch. The back of the car is jumping, because it is to light, so i have allways 50 or 75kilos of tools in the back. but in the end, Fez is more stable than standard fez, and i could use a trail (ruts) of nissan patrol.
My need is LSD in front diff and 100% locker in back diff, but there are none for the fez. The only posible way is to swap the diffs from toyota hiace, which has the same ratio 1:5,285.

I agree that $1300 is a good price if its suspension lift and includes a decent set of shocks. But make sure you know what brand/model they are before you go ahead or they might just throw in the cheapest set they can find
When I was just starting out, I got quoted a ridiculous price for 2" body lift by a well known and loved 4x4 company off this board, so I won't bother mentioning who it was. But it was around the $1500 mark. I lol'd when I found out how much I could have been ripped off!
And I can't see 2" lift making even a feroza unstable.

Nope, the biggest tyres was 31", but with 235/75/15 has more power and use less fuel. 1 litre of gasoline in our country costs 1 EUR. That is aprox. 1.86 Australian dollars.
