Shifter?

Post by Malcolm01 »

hi, I've just put a 4sp auto into my 84 range rover and the gear selector cable is a tad frayed and damaged. the main problem is the cable slips out of the bracket and therefore doesn't line up and wont sit in park or even go into reverse. (i kinda miss my reverse gear.)

just wondering what my options are, worth looking around for a 2nd hand 1?, trying to get a new 1? or maybe any1 knows if there's an aftermarket quick shifter available?

thx.

Matt-w it is a ZF as stated in the original post.

Best bet would be to get another cable or complete shifter.

You could go a B&M or hurst but you would have to make your own brackets as they arnt able to supply any for the ZF.
The original cable and shifter when working properly do work very well.
