Swapping locking hubs or entire axel?

Post by Marz's Mad MQ »

Hi, I have a 1985 SWB patrol. The locking hubs are leaking. I have an 83 patrol that I pulled the motor out of where I can get another set from. Would it be easier to swap the hubs or just do the entire axle? Would there be any difference between the two models in this area?

Cheers,

Marz

If its anything like a GQ then it might be your axle seals that are leaking.
SWB mav. Some mods.

As dansedgli said!
The hubs could possibly bolt on BUT there should be no oil in there to
leak out! Only grease. Most likely your axle seals are stuffed letting the diff oil out into the knuckle area. getting mixed with the grease in there
and then leaking out. Typically they leak out from the knuckle wiper seal area not at the locking hubs. check the bolts might be loose!
cheers
