TD42 DTS Turbo Kit Boost
TD42 DTS Turbo Kit Boost
Hi Guys
I've got a DTS kit fitted to my 94 TD42 Coil Cab that has just had a full engine and fuel pump rebuild 7000km ago and am wondering what sort of boost should I be looking to run when the car gets Dyno'ed in a couple of weeks. The only mods above the standard DTS kit which is fitted is a 3" dump and 3" Mandrel Bent Straight through exhaust. Any help would be appreciated.
Cheers

is it intercooled? anything over about 10 psi non intercooled the intake temps are gunna be up a bit high anyway.. It really depends how much power you want to make and where you want to make it. Sure you might make good power on the dyno running big boost but it will be like driving an N/A untill you get it reving. I would say run about 12 pound with a good intercooler and tune to suit.. if you want to go any higher than that then you will have to start looking at pump mods ect.. to keep the fuel up to it. Just make sure you keep an eye on the pyro temps. Also i believe some of the older td42's have lighter pistons and cant handle as much boost.
01 td42 GU patrol ute, with extra bits and pieces.
