Daddylonglegs 6X6
Moderator: Micka
There was a certain degree of self steering in the rear suspension control rod geometry. eg when turning left, weight transfer would push the right hand rear wheels slightly further apart and pull the left hand rear wheels slightly closer together, so the rear axles actually turned into the corner without tyre scrub. The truck could be operated in 6x2, 6x4 or 6x6 mode, but in practice I always drove it in 6x4 mode on hard surfaces because there was negligable windup between the rear diffs.

Anyone know what has happened to Bill? He posted on Pirate long after he stopped posting here, but doesn't seem to post anywhere now. I miss all the cool tech he used to post.Gwagensteve wrote:I don't think Daddylonglegs pops up on here any more, but yes, AFAIK it was a copy of the scammel "walking beam" suspension.NRS91 wrote:ace landy there

I haven't heard from him for some time. IIRC he has spoken a few times about moving to Vietnam.ISUZUROVER wrote:Anyone know what has happened to Bill? He posted on Pirate long after he stopped posting here, but doesn't seem to post anywhere now. I miss all the cool tech he used to post.
