currently doing a cab swap on my 85 hilux with commo v6 and was wondering how heavy it is and if there are any tricks to doing it without damaging anything as cab is in good cond, and i wish to sell it complete, eventually.
ive lifted suzuki ute cabs off before and they are suprisingly heavy, 3 men cant do it, had to use a engine crane, so i imagine a hilux cab is heavier.

Hilux cab weight and swap info?

dual or single?
I lifted my dual cab bodywork off to do my engine swap- the tray is a 2 man lift easy.
the cabin, stripped out completely, was a very, very difficult 4 man lift/struggle- six would be easy.

2005 HDJ100 Manual, ARB bar, XD9000 winch, ARB rooftop tent + awning, Drawers, Engel, 2" OME lift, 285/75R16 KM2's, iCom, HID XGT's.
I lifted my 81 model single cab with 3 strong guys
( RN46's are super light though)
I have had them off several times i have found the best way is with an engine crane
I open the doors and put a matress through the cab on the ceiling and a heavy duty ratchet strap looped throughand tightend down with a D shacke on it
Then i remove the bonnet and run another ratchet strap to each of the corners of the front of the car near the head lights.
by tightening and loosening the front strap you can move the centre of gravity to get it to balance right and to get it to move to the desired angle
this way the cab can be lowered as slow as you like to clear things on the way down with out getting tired
