might be slower but its still quicker than not moving at all .

and i think the comment of next time ...drive harder should be directed at the people using there winches not the ones driving only :D :D

On behalf of the Blue Mountains Club thanks for a great event. Glad to see much constructive feedback, which will help with an even better event next year. Had a chat to PK and Tony and I'm sure they they really
appreciate it; they already had some ideas to tweak it.

Oh, and to our team, well done guys, you drove (and navvied) awesome!!!

The dude in the suit everyone is asking about was the local mayor who called in the check things out ( he also lives directly over the road from Tony ) .... the mayor is all full of praise for us putting it on , the issue was with a few of the other neighbours.
It would definatly be appreciated if those clubs that did attend over the weekend , weather competing or just spectation , could perhaps take the time to put pen to paper & lodge in an official letter of support for the event . When we get back to the local council for a debrief , we would certainly like to be able to show the council what outside support this event would have if we are able to hold it again & again in the future years to come . I know personally i got a lot of enjoyment out of helping out with the event as did all the members of the Canobolas 4WD Club that were there .
We would be more than happy to write with support for the event.

Where do we post the letter to?

Cheers
Tony

Just to echo that which my fellow Blue Mountains club members have said . Thanks for a fantastic event . Love the tracks , loved the format & scoring , You guys did a brilliant job & I hope your club broke even or maybe even made some money . Look forward to next time ( maybe you could run it twice a year & make it a series ):armsup:

Well what a weekend. I have to take my hat off to Tony and family for allowing us to competitors to play with a over sized shopping trolley on your beautiful property. Two thumbs up to the Canobolas Club for running the event it was one for the record books. The choice of trophies were excellent. My only suggestion for future is a half size version (an ATV CV) for the navi.

Thanks James

I'll echo what most people are saying here, it was a great event and for a first go was remarkably free from hassles and problems.

The woodpecker-style system of everyone running in order, in teams and with only 1 or 2 events running at any one time is not only great for seeing the action, but it makes our life (DVD editing) much easier too  The night event was great, but maybe a bit shorter next year to make sure everyone gets through it.

As has been mentioned, the photies are up, in this gallery on the website. Pretty sure I should have several shots of everyone who competed.

We're working on the DVD, which should be done by the end of January at the latest. Hopefully earlier.

No stills from the night event. It was too dark not to use a flash, and I decided that flashes going off in the drivers' eyes might not make me too popular!

On the upside, knowing there was going to be a night event on, we decided to hire two $7,000 low-light video cameras for the event. I haven't looked at the footage on the computer yet, but they seemed to work really well on the night, so there should be some great video from the night event on the DVD.

Thanks everyone for your encouraging feedback, it was very satisfying for us to pull off a great event. We learned a heap and hopefully next year will be even better. The council are still very happy with everything that happened over the weekend, there are a few issues to work through, that can all be resolved. If anyone wants to e-mail me a letter of support i will print them out and present them at our next meeting with council. toperi2@bigpond.com

We are having our own commitee meeting tommorrow night to go through the weekends events, we will look at all points raised in feedback and come up with a great set of rules for next year.

Watching over the weekend it was easy to see a lot of teams were not skilled at winching at competition level, im sure before next year most teams will improve on this.

I will put the complete results on our website, every car and every stage.

Thanks for that. As a suggestion for next year how about a overall club trophy for the highest combined score like most other comps. :)

It appears we have made the worst mistake possible, a scoring error. 2 stage sheets were swapped between folders and no one picked up the incorrect car numbers. We will double check but as it is now Ziggy & Bob from Brindabellas were second and Mal & Anthony AT4 third. Will confirm all asap.

Further to this mistake.. The Lithgow club had the drivers swapped around and in fact Jason Rosochacki 16A not 16B took out first place for 35inch tyres with Brian Page 16B not 16A taking out 3rd.. All scores are correct for each vehicle but the names have been mixed up... Not happy...

After a committee meeting we have agreed to have 2 second place getters, we will get 2 more trophies made and send Bob & Ziggy a cheque for $1250. That way no one has to return trophies or money. We made the mistake we will wear it. The mistake with the lithgow cars was a simple mistake of who was driving the A & B car. Our appologies to those involved.

Put it down as a learning curve & move on.Your club did an excellent job with organising & running the event & it can only get better. At least your club had the balls to admit it.Good luck for next year.Regards Ken.
