Would be nice to have superselect/activetrac on the ol' Paj.

Have an 89 NG 2.5

Ive done the reverse, put an early t/c in my 94 to get more rear d/s length. It works but its not just bolt in, I had to drill one hole that didn't line up and the t/c lever is in a different place inside.

Was the speedo cable the same ?

I've read that the gen 2 uses a magnetic pulse input.

Early 3.0 ones were cable and later ones were electronic.

You'd need to replace your auto hubs if you haven't already with either drive flanges so they were permanently in or put manual hubs on.

I've got manual hubs on already so that's taken care of.

I could always swap out the speed/gauge cluster and grab the 4wd control unit box behind the cd deck.

NJV6 reckons it can be done. im picking up my early transfur this weekend and already have my pto sitting the shed. when im doing it im going to take lots of pics and try and do a write up.

but if anyone has any tips or prior knowledge on it, let me know. im planing on just taking the PTO gear from the early case and putting it in my gen 2 transfur as the hole is already in the side.
