everone has lockers

Post by allisterrenee »

I have LSD front and back wound up very tight and can do almost everything my mates do with lockers . Plus i dont have to turn them on or off . I think the GQ or GU LSD s are a great set up, with less drama's . I am building up my next truck now and might consider lockers but after hereing about the trouble they can cause i'm unsure now, I havn't herd of this before untill now . I think its all about what gets you there in the end, and LSD s get me there everytime . Cheers

Good fitting practice is all that is required, the old 4 bolts did have a design issue.
What is the installed base compared to the ARB product.
The failure rates could be identical, but if you have an install base of millions vs 10's of thousands, can severly distort percived results.

Sorry, I don't get what your saying. The old 4 bolt airlocker had issues thus has been redesigned many times.

Crownwheel bolts comming loose will happen on any diff carrier that is not fitted correctly.

this is not a fitting problem it is a manufacture problem. the bolts that came loose hold the unit together not the ones which hold the crown wheel on

If the Prolocker is indeed the exact same design as McNamara then there are obviously issues with them too.... Otherwise TJM would not have pulled them from the market... not one or two models but all of them due to failure issues.

There are soo many variables and ways a diff can be treated and used (in terms of terrain and available traction) interesting thing is these all relate to what are now quite old designs.
