Speaking form experience, everything on the 2.8 is expensive........
There is a mob in Melbourne which is probably no good to you who overhaul injector pumps called Marrasi & Williams but thought I would telll you anyway.
How much is $$hit loads?
You could probably pick up a second hand one from someone doing a 2.8 - 4.2 conversion. Keep an eye out on Egay.

Quoted $2k plus
Whats that price include, does it include R&R or is it just the pump o/haul.
Whats the symptons and why are you needing to replace it.
rogantriton wrote:by diesel pump do u mean the injector pump?? if yes my gu 2.8 has a farked one and i got quoted $1600 to get it rebuilt or $2300 for a brand new one.
I'm in Brisbane and mine had a small leak. I was quoted $900 if i took the pump off myself , which is a very easy job on a 2.8 . Mine has no cable going to the pump just wires. GU. It can be done cheap. I was told to also do the timing belt while the jobs being done...
I would just knock some off the price and sell letting the new owner know about it . When i bought mine it was leaking , no one told me i had to find out the hard way , but sh*t happens , i am happy with the car. It passed a road worthy when i got it, because it wasn't dripping on the ground ..lol any way hope this helps
Lifted turbo GU , 900blade .. TLR1000 "the dark side" , Boat ,
Had a mate (fitter) look at it yesterday. It's leaking fuel from the front side.
There's a pump specialist in town that mainly does heavy diesel jobs (cat, etc) who'll do the job at "mates rates".
It was suggested that I could leave it go, (since I'm selling the car) but the rest of the car is immaculate, and I'd like it gone a t a good price, with no faults. As stated before, I have to LIVE in this town.
I would strongly suggest that you have it removed and resealed and tested and it should not cost you much more than $1300 if its only a reseal and test.
The prices you are being qouted are for a total rebuild with new parts of which it may not require,if its running/starting fine then i see no reason why it would be any more.
Youre choice but that is what i would do and if it tests up fine then there is no recall on you at all.
i got quoted 8k just for the pump no labour from nissan, wankers! they also tried to sell me a fuse for $45.
you can get a quick fix kit from nissan for about $100 which will last about a month but i would trade it in.
nissan 98 gu 5" lift 37 creepys, 80%reduction gears, front locker and a gen3 and no money.

Going to miss the old beast
What Vintage was it, mods etc and how much did you get for it if not a rude question? Just curious as thinking about selling mine for a TD42 (Bogged is trying to convince me that I want one).
