Nissan X-trail

Post by lolergram »

Hey buds,

Does anyone have pet hates about the x-trails?
Has anyone seen them off road?

Is there any sort of equipment/mods that can be done to these to make them slightly more off-roadable?

They seem quite light.

Any other comments you want to make on them?
:)
Don't expect to see my recipe, until I receive my cheque and collection fee

A few people got worried when they leaned on the front 1/4 panels and they thought they had dented them

obviously thyey aint hard core but are fairly competent on easy tracks.

I have heard that they can drop out of 4x4 after hard work on sand. Apparently the gearbox/tcase gets hot and you loose 4x4 leaving you buried in soft sand in 2wd. Let it cool for a while (about 4 beers) and you are back in action.

I think ARB do a 40mm lift, a mate of mine had his lifted just for some extra ground clearance.
Satnav with Teretts, now thats funny....

Hey mate,
There is an x-trail specific forum, run here in Oz, so you should be able to find all the answers to your questions.

My wife has an x-trail, which I have 'tinkered' slightly.
My list includes:
40mm Pedders lift, 225,75r16 BFG all terrains, bash guard, throttle body spacer, rear drawers, upgraded lights and 4x Hella spotties.
Her vehicle can be seen here:

and here:

They are a great little soft-roader, but due to their weight and reasonable power, they go pretty good in the medium stuff. No rock hopping though. I recently took 16 xtrails out through Newnes and we had a ball.

Good luck with your 'build-up'.
