Funny thing when you sell your old Rangies/Disco and find them a few years later they pop up again for sale. I remember I used to own an 84 Rangie and traded it in on a later model Rangie then I seen it somewhere at 'Cruiser park although a bit worse for wear a couple of years after that. It had a maxi-drive alloy bullbar (one of Mal's creations). I hated it, the bullbar that is, at first but the bar grew on me and kicking myself I never hung onto it :x

Wish I had mates that gave me a Rangie  But I get them cheap anyway most times.

All the issues Grimace had with it you should have a trouble-free run. Now that grimace has owned it the jinx is gone :D

The issues with that car where sparatic power delivery and uncontrollable fuel consumption.
On top of this the previous owner thought he was an auto elctrician (but clearly wasn't), had elctrical wires & crap goin on everywhere and it just wasn't cricket.

Nottie spent the time to strip all the elctrics and hopefully that will bring the car back in line.

The only other problem was the interference from the new bosch alternator at certain rpm, but I am sure nottie will resolve that by rerouting the cabling as has been done on fluffy.

I hope it serves him well, and look forward to seeing it transformed to what it should have been all along!

Bit like my Rangie, had wires and shit all over the joint when I bought it. I Had a large pile of spagetti aftersome snipping, testing and re-wiring of some things. From experience, other people crap wiring has caused me a few headaches over the years and owning of several Rangies over that time :bad-words:

No I didn't, I seriously thought about it but one Rangie is enough atm although I have an eye on another one (auto, 3.9 etc..) for a future project.

Not sure that he is chasing a 2 door in particular...we are all trying - with limited success - to get him to swap any goodies out of the Homeless into a Rangie for social wheeling, instead of stuffing around with comps.

I've got a 79 rangie without motor and gearbox, basically rolling chassis and body, has one inch body lift, diffs from an 87, no rust (which was the reason I bought it to complete a body swap with my old 2 door) and trimmed guards to take bigger tyres - did have 35's previously fitted - if thats of interest

I'm in Brisbane if he wants to have a look.
