3F Extractors

Post by Bobbles »

Hi
Are the 2F extractors a match to the 3F? I have a 3F engine in a troopy and want to get some extractors however you see more advertised for the 2F then for the 3F. Is it possible to bolt the 2F extractors onto the 3F engine?
Thanks for any help
Rob

The issue is the 3F is a shorter block by quite a bit. I would say the extrators would sit too low to where you want to connect to the exhaust if you used ones for a 2F

I bought a 2F gasket and 3F gasket and the bolt patterns are different, might pay to check that out more

I have had extractors on both a 2F and 3F and they are different. As indicated above, they look similar, but the bolt pattern is slightly different and the base of the extractors will probably sit well below the chassis line. I have never had a problem getting extractors for my 3F, and as my 60 is 25 years old I am on my third set. It is important to get a quality set, otherwise they can rust out in a short time (as I found out)! Dirt can build up in the area where the header pipes come together and this can lead to rust problems when the engine is cool.
