6 wheeler on beach?

How do you guys think a extended chassis six wheel turbo diesel patrol would go on the beach . the last axle is a lazy and the vehicle weighs 3T unladen.

probably not as good as a 4wd but better than a 4wd towing a trailer

As to the question, it will be fine. As far as i'm concerned the lazy axle will provide extra ground pressure flotation on sand, particularly if the inflation pressures are down. There was a 6x4 GU featured in 4wdaction magazine not that long ago that seemed to do just fine.

Same as out in the bush there is a possibility i suppose of the rear axle holding the middle axle off the ground but i guess you just need to be aware of it. And your turning circle is going to suck even more than normal.

My parents had no troubles in an extended wheelbase toyota 7x dual cab with fully loaded trailer on fraser and various beaches all the way to the cape. Total weight fully loaded is a touch over 4t (ute, trailer, 12ft tinny, 2 fridges, spares and enough spares and supplies to last 3months) running 32"ish coopers

thanks guys... and yes i thought it was a reasonable question also.

I was aware that it is still a 4x4, and it wouldnt be terrible. but i figured if people can take a loaded cruiser and jayco in tow, then i should be fine .

I was genuinely going to enjoy this thread as I knew I would learn something new!

I see this 6 wheeler Nissan frequently on the beach I go to and it doesn't seem to have any issues even on the soft stuff but as indicated it needs a bit of room to turn

Hi all...Seen a troopy 6x4 on numerous occasions on stockton beach full of tourists down near the signa.

well all i took it on its first trip yesterday up to rainbow bech via the noosa ferry. not a problem at all.

Got stuck once due to the tyre tracks getting onto the inland track where quite deep and it bottom out onto the diff. Apart from that, not a worry at
