What auto box behind 4.4 P76 motor

Post by Pesky Pete »

Currently doing some research on what the options are for an auto box behind a P76 motor in a Hilux. As I'll be running 38's I'll need some options in transfer gearing or dual cases. Im sure that there is a Rover box/ transfer combination that will suit the motor without mucking around with Bellhousings etc.

Cheers

Yep - ZF 4 speed to LT230 transfer is a straight boltup with a different adapter that goes between the end of the crankshaft and the flexplate (different compared to the adapter that the stock rover motors use.)

Lt230 has 3.3:1 low range and is a full time 4wd with centre diff lock. Both front and rear outputs are on the drivers side so you may have to run a bundara rear diff??
