Hey,
I got a 05 subaru forester NA and got an annoying noise coming from where i have pinpointed it so far down to the tin covers over the exhaust.
what are these for? and ok to take em off? i would say so yes as any aftermarket exhaust does not have them on.

Re: Exhaust cover plates
I would leave them where they are, they reflect and carry to areas it can be safley disapated an amazing amount of heat.nicbeer wrote:Hey,

It should not be to hard to recitify the issue instead of just ditching the heat sheilds.

The Forester has a bad habit of cooking the CV joint rubber boot with the heat from the exhaust. I'd be very careful about removing heat shields - they are there for a reason!!
