35's hitting back of front guards on lfs 4 runner

Post by daniel1 »

I have a lfs 4runner with 2" body lift,2"suspension lift,3"shackles and the tyres still hit the guard,35 on 10"rims and wide track kit, so whats the best way to move the diff forward to stop the tyres hitting? some options:
Axle relocation plates?
drill the spring perches on the housing?
drill the springs?
swap the main spring wrap with one off a Ifs rear?

cheers daniel

I'm guessing you have RUF and still need more room ??

Either extend your bump stops, custom springs or redrill the perches.

jees, surely you dont have to do both, have you put bump stops in the front since doing the conversion.

Yes, tho mine is coil sprung not leaf sprung, would have thought they should be put it as part of doing a proper conversion ???

Use the Trail Gear springs in the front they are longer and move the diff forward. I used there kit on my sas and have no issues with 35s hitting up front and could get 37s in there with some slight trimming.

Do you know how much they move the diff forward by?

Thinking of getting a set and don't know whether to drill the perches as well or not ;)

Bubs would be the man to ask as he has removed standard ones and replaced them with TG ones.

Mine being a SAS moved the front forward heaps from my standard position.

No stress then.

I might just compare the lengths on the TG site to the leafs that came out of my front end.
