hi i was just wondering whether it is worth time and effort and if u can still run a drain plug when u shave the diff pic would be appreciated
Bracing it yes is worth it but only if you are going to drive the thing HARD
Shaving the pumpkin (in my opinion) is not worth the hassle all for and extra 1" - 1.5" clearance

20mm is the most you can really get on a GQ housing successfully.
We remove the bottom stud and replace it with a bolt that holds the carrier on, and this becomes the drain plug.
We normally tube the axles, rotate the balls for castor, and brace the outsides where required at the same time. Weight does become an issue if you go overboard, and having a complete housing made doesnt work out much dearer sometimes.
These are some we did to put under a TJ wrangler, had to swap sides on the centre, kept all the axle lengths the same though.

i had my front diff stripped for some new bearings seals and cv's a while back. while it was out i decided that i might as well strenghten it up. bought the kit from superior and added a few more hussets here and there. pretty happy with it.

when adding protection to the actual diff ( centre ) housing be carefull of the clearance to the panhard rod.

I'm running standard bumpstops and radius arm spacers.

Just to clarify a little, if a 2-3 inch lift has our brace kit fitted it is recommended to drop the bump stops as the panhard "may hit the guard on FULL compression and the top brace may hit the sump.

I think you should be making people aware of these issues before you sell it to them, especially when you are aware of the problem.
It would of saved me some drama's.
I've extende my front bumpstops for now but plan on bracing another one. Just need the gussets for the top of steering knuckles ( from superior ) and the rest i'll fab up my self..

The top gussets have a little more detail to them.
The clearance to swivel hub whilst turning is a bit tight, and the gussets are bevelled to accomodate it.
Your right i should probably spend the time and make them myself, but i thought it would just be easier, ( the job is never as much fun the second time around )

so how about some info on these series 2 diff gaurds, some pic's would be nice too.
BTW im having these issues with a standard panhard rod, ( albeit with radius arm spacers ) but will soon need to clear one of superiors adjustable rods.
Will your S.R.C range include a different brace for above axle tube too?
I'm not in a hurry as i've got alot of other shit on, but still want to get parts sorted.
