Ey guys just wanted to know if anyone has mounted a second alt on there mq? and information about how to set up a second one like the belts and shit?

why not just get a high output one?
nissan 98 gu 5" lift 37 creepys, 80%reduction gears, front locker and a gen3 and no money.

i have got a 24 volt system and i cant upgrade the alt cause its got the vacum connected to it hense i cant upgrade to a bigger one

got one on my SD33T no drmas. Basically ontop of rocker cover and will run oin the air con belt.

Has a 2inch body lift though, dunno if it helped.

Took about 2 hrs to make. welded to aircon bracket and bolted to power steer pump bracket. Alt is fixed and uses orig idler pulley for tension.

Very happy with it.

Grab an alternator of choice and dunk it on top of rocker cover and rougly line the pulley up with the belt. Grab a inch thick bit of timber and chuck under the alt for spacing.

The rest is pretty self explanetary. I dont have a camera anymore to take pics or the time to do it.

What im trying to say is yes one fits there and its easy once you get it lined up. Cut/weld/cut/ weld ..Done

just fitted a second alt to the old mq as the mud wont stay out of the factory one :D
question is how do you bypass the alt wiring on the factory one?
