Diff Questions? WMS to WMS?

Post by Remydog05 »

Just a couple of questions I couldnt find in the bible?

What is the width of a Rangie/Disco Diff? EG from WMS (Wheel mounting Surface) to WMS?

Is it from 94 that the stronger 24 spline Axels, etc came in?

So 80's rangies would be 10 spline?

Definitely (unless they've been upgraded sometime in the past)

Not sure about the other bit though.

1556mm for a 24 spline disco rear axle.

So yeah, 61 inches.

Thanks All

Is it right that Rangie and Early Disco had the 4link and the later ones had the knuckle looking Aframe type setup?

Which is best?

They are all the same.
Early rangies (before they had sway bars) had a third spring in the rear, a self-leveller working in the middle of that A-frame.

The three link rear suspension they use is the same as a triangulated 4 link.
