Round 1 Engel Series 2009
Moderator: evanstaniland
Paul, I have tried to access the the results on the CCDA web page and it wont work. Is there a problem with the page? If not, when will the results be available?
I hope the decision made in regards to the final stage delema is one that was fare to all competitors, as it would take the shine off what was a great event.
We are looking forward to the rest of the series, BRING IT ON !!!

"MANUAL OF FWD MOTOR SPORT STANDING REGULATIONS
8 Version 9.0 20-Jan-2009
2.24 ABANDONMENT OR CANCELLATION OF A STAGE OR EVENT
An Event or a Stage of an Event may be abandoned or cancelled after commencement at the
discretion of the Event Director. (Refer to Rule 2.37) The reasons for the abandonment or
cancellation shall be communicated to the Competitors as soon as practical after the abandonment
or cancellation at a briefing called for that purpose.
Should twenty percent or more of the qualified field of Competitors have started the Event or Stage
subject to the abandonment or cancellation, and further provided that the field started in ranked
order for that Event or Stage, then the points earned by the Competitors who started the Event or
Stage shall count toward the Event result.
A qualified field shall include those Competitors who’s vehicle had passed Event Scrutineering and
who subsequently had not withdrawn or been disqualified, and whose vehicle was readied and
able to start the Event or Stage.
The balance of the qualified field of Competitors who did not start the Event or Stage before its

who started the Event or Stage, except that any penalties incurred by that Competitor shall not be
applied to those Competitors who did not start.
Should less than twenty percent of the qualified field start an abandoned or cancelled Event or
Stage of an Event, or should the qualified field not start in ranked order for that Event or Stage,
then points earned by any Competitor who started that Event or Stage shall not count toward the
Event result"

doesn't stir anything up..... we knew what the CCDA regs say BUT
read the event supp regs . they clearly say that the stages would be cancelled at 2pm. Geoff exended this time to 2.30 due to we conditions.
I think this should be put to rest now.
This rule sux.SHAYNE wrote:This is interesting information posted on Mud Rhino Forum today

So in a CCDA event say 100 cars
1 or more drive the 100
1 doesn't make it to the 10
Event Cancelled after 22 start
according to above rule
other 78 get 0 points(through no fault of their own)
Commenting on rule only
If that 1 car doesn't make it to the 10, then they get a DNF don't they, and the non competing competitors will get their score from the lowest ACTUAL SCORE (if that 1 car got 0 they haven't scored, have they now?)3.8BUNDY wrote: This rule sux.

With your "don't they" and your "have they now"s you sound a bit arrogant, I could be wrong (apparently I have been before, Oh excuse my arrogance).
Winch rules must be different to non winch comps. You earn 0 you score 0.
What if you get to the 10 point mark, do you get 10 point? (SERIOUS QUESTION)
If yes it still sux as it is hard to catch up 90 points in a tight comp.
OR
Have I missed something altogether and the above rule applies to WINCH comps only and not all CCDA events.
Dear All
Rest assured the CCDA know all it's rules and the decision was taken in light of all the available information and working through with the event director.
If anyone has any question regarding this please feel free to send an email to the CCDA or PM me and I am happy to discuss. I do not think that a long debate on forums helps anyone. It just creates more confussion and frustration.
It was a great event and lets move forward and not backwards.
