Staun Tyre Deflators

Post by Shorty40 »

The Stauns are adjustable from 6-30psi. If I wind them all the way in, is that 6psi ?

Winding them in ups the cut-off pressure (more preload on the internal spring.)

I've not tried to wind mine all the way out - I would expect them to fall apart?

Cheers,

Scott

OK then, so winding in is higher psi.

So does anyone know how far out to wind them to attain 6psi ?

Basically, I am too lazy to test them properly ;) and was looking for a shortcut. I am hoping someone has worked out where 6psi is on the Stauns.

Problem is, they have been wound in and out so many times I don't know where the factory setting is anymore :?

Sounds like a trip to the servo to set then properly with a tyre gauge and compressor

Once youv'e got one set to the rite pressure the just set the others by turning them end to end and measuring off the little end against the other.

or if you really want to, set one tyre at the desired PSI, then put each one on, one by one, and adjust till it leaks a tiny bit of air out, then do the same with the rest, thats how a mate did his.

go to town and country at beverly hills, they have a little staun testing chamber, takes 5 secs to set each one properly and you can then mark the spot with a texta for the future. just take em in and say you dont know how to adjust em  i got the shits trying to set em properly.

This is what they tell you to do on the packet and remember to do the lock nut up tight!

Nope I dont think there has been enought to time to go to reading the instructions. The standard rule is own it for a week, then when you cant get it to work then read.

I calibrated mine using a mountain bike tyre. Should also work on any bike or wheelbarrow tyre. A lot quicker to pump up and let down to pressure with either a mechanical or manual pump in your on shed.

They also make one for 0-10 PSI and 15-55 psi

0-10 work great for those of us with Seondair/beadlocks
