Oil pressure should rise when you rev it, not drop.

Most GQ oil pressure gauges are really inaccurate. I've got a VDO gauge in my wagon as well as the standard gauge and the VDO gauge shows 5 bar at revs when hot, 2 bar when idling. The standard gauge shows maybe .5 bar idling and 2 when revving. Get an after market gauge for peace of mind. My 2c worth

Sorry, lost a line in the previous post somehow. The VDO gauge shows 5 bar hot and revving, 2 at idle, while the standard gauge shows 1-2 hot and revving and .5 at idle. Get an aftermarket gauge, IMO

how do you run an aftermarket oil presure guage aswell as the standard one. Don't you need to remove the standard sender unit inorder to install and aftermarket one?

mine reads around 2 and up a little when reving. TD42 430 000 kms

there is a port on the exhaust side they use for when you put an aftermarket turbo on you can use that for an aftermarket or put a t peice in where the factory sender is

i have a 't' piece in the standard oil pressure switch spot. autometer gauge goes in one side, stock oil pressure switch n the other.
