They utilise a system of vertically aligned hinges which allow the doors to swing on an arc of an estimated 110 degrees, pivoting on forementioned hinges from a fully open to a closed position. Due to previous alignment at installation, the doors meet perfectly in the middle when manually or automatically closed utilising either electrical or stored energy device such as a spring or gas strut. When said doors are aligned, this then gives the door owner an opportunity to avoid further usage of doors by other users by using one or several locking mechanisms. Most common of which are two methods. First are sliding bolts which mate with holes in floor and door frame again aligned at installation of door, stopping the door from opening due to sheer inertia of many tons of concrete. Second aformentioned device is usually a key and tumbler arrangement, turning a rotary motion into a linear motion to move a bolt from inside one door to halfway inside the other, therefore cancelling the pivoting point of the hinges and basically for all intensive purposes turns the doors into a solid.

I'd only been taking my pootrol there recently but I was pretty happy with the service.. he'd always seem to round down the price of stuff, as a customer it was great! but if it put him out of business.. then that aint so good.. seemed pretty busy too, so hard to see why he'd be going broke.

It suprises me how many 4x4 shops you see around melbourne and outer burbs, most ive never heard of, not suprising some are closing in current climate. Wombat sounds pretty good business which are the ones that usually survive.

Prob shut to stop gravity getting out. Its so hard to design something to work properly that will drive the first layer of gravity using airbags if it keeps escaping.


But seriously. Ive never seen , heard,etc anything about this joint. There are a million reasons why a shop shuts and a million reason to that reason. So i vote we offer our support and condolences and spread the great work he did. wouldnt be the first time a customer has followed a tradesmen to a different workplace.

ajsr.....i'd be sending him on that bus to a school that would also teach him some basic language skills.

sorry to hear about wombat....dealt with him a few times and was a good bloke. but some workshops also close because they are just sick of customers and thier attitudes.
