bellhousings and fitting a 2H to a FJ60 to replace the 3F

Post by lokka »

Will the bell housing from the 4 speed box fit the later 5 speed box ??? . As i have a good 2H with 4 speed and id like to stick it in my FJ62 in place of the 3F and id like to keep the 5 speed ... Is this worth doing and is it possible to replace the 3F with the 2H ?? .. I have the complete HJ60 to take all the bits from so i cant see it being all that bad who has done this and is it worth doing...

4 speed amd 5 speed are the same bolt pattern at the box/ bellhousing join but cant remember if clutch slave is on opposite sides or not
Keep it shiny side up!
Now doing general fab work and painting
trays, trailers, engine swaps on request, some tube work, silo section sliders, rust repairs, ute chops etc

WTF more info please and kays on what the 3f that comin out or the 2h i want to put in ????
I think what vk7ybi is saying is your post was missing some punctuation that would have enhanced its readability, as opposed to presenting a solid block of text requiring the reader to guess where sentences started and stopped and exactly what questions you were asking . ;)

the vac opperarated transfer can be a PITA to retro fit into something else.
but if you know what your doing and have all the bits and wiring etc. no reason why it wont work
Keep it shiny side up!

Yep well after to days effort i think i may be fitting the other transfer as ive broken the 4wd locking dog i think .. As i busted a rear axle and then drove on the front wheels with it in 4wd... Seems its wound up driving on the road and made a few choice bangs now its makin all sorts of grinding noises and soforth :D :D :D :D

Ive all ways been good at fawking things proper so my ex use to say :D :D :D
