1JZ GTE VVTi swap question

Post by Wheeler »

I am planning to swap this engine (JDM) in a car that is not a Supra. But reading the parts calalog and wiring diagram, there are couple of parts that not really what are they for and if the engine will run without it (or how to skip it).

This is a parts diagram where you can see the "Fuel Pump Control" and "Throttle Control", that are inside the car, so will not came with the engine (ebay USA).

Thanks in advance for your help, there is nobody that could help me down here.

Fuel pump control is not needed. The best way to control the fuel pump on this engine is to use a tacho-metric relay (used in LPG systems) They switch on when they see a tacho signal.

Throttle control i could only assume is cruise control or tractrion control, Either way not needed.

Ans what is the function of it? To stop the fuel pump when high pressure is reached?

Will the engine runs with that 2 wires that runs from the Fuel Control Box to the ECU empty?

Can not find info about the Tacho metric relay, anyone?
