Fried Sierra - literally

Post by mrRocky »

Headin over to a mates place to do some wiring, apparently he is dumb and went to jumpstart his zuk but mixed the leads up and melted a heap of wiring (posative to negative with jumperleads) . No fuses were blown but car has no ignition lights.
Is there anything else he might have f-kd up that i should be looking for

Fried the immobiliser which was making trying to figure out what was wrong even harder. Because the immobiliser cuts the signal to the coil it copped the full wrath of the short, didnt blow any fuses but melted the wire to the ignition which the immobiliser went between.
Car now has no immobiliser which in my opinion is the way a 4wd should be, they cause nothing but dramas especially where water is concerned.

What a stooge even my missus knows which way jumperleads go on. :finger:

save time and money and start with a new battery, any thing that spins should just go the wrong way with reverse polarity but it should not be as bad as it sounds just take the time to sort it out.
