Jimny suspension questions

Post by firstjimny »

I want to change the suspension on my 2001 Jimny.
I keep getting conflicting information.
OME sells a 3 inch lift kit and they say extended brake lines are not necessary and they say changing the castor corrrection arms is not necessary. Several other places say that both are necessary. I want to do this lift right but I'm not sure who to listen to. Any help would be greatly apprreciated.

OME do NOT sell a 3 inch system (not in australia anyway). if you get a 3 inch system you will need castor bushes and longer lines. also you may have to space your bumpstops down.

I assume you mean caster bushes?

Mr firstjimny might have more luck asking for a left handed screwdriver

O.K., first off, I'm not in Austrailia. I'm an American living in Latvia.
(Yeah, I know you never heard of it)
Second, OME does sell 3 inch lifts, check out www.rockyroad.com under the Suzuki Samurai-Jimny section. It is at the very bottom.
They are the ones who told me that I didn't need the extended lines or the front and rear radius arms. Unfortunately the U.S. doesn't get Jimny's so they don't offer alot of parts for them but their information has always been good on everything else. But someone from OME who supplies them should know.
I realize we call different parts by a little different names and what I was actually talking about was the front and rear radius arms. Which I realize different websites call by different names also. Either way, thanks for your time. And by the way, I do have a left-handed screw driver.

OME doesn't make a 3"lift as already pointed out but what Rocky Road does is combine the OME lift with some coil spacers to get added height. You might want to check out www.jimny.se for all things Jimny.

would be interested to know what shocks they spec for the 3inch kit as the ome jimny shocks will not suit that kind of lift. either way 3 inch lift= castor bushes.
