Which spring to use with retainers ?

Post by mrRocky »

I plan on running a coil setup like this on my rig and am after a spring like the one pictured to use with retainers on my suzuki. Just wondering where i can get some really soft ones as the car will only be about 800kg's.

what are you actually chasing?, a long soft spring or a spring that is suited to being extended as well as compressed?
are you retaining at both ends?

What i'am after is a spring that can be extended and compressed quite a bit whilst being retained at the diff end and the chassie mount end.
Spring width isnt really important as i will be making the mounts but i need a soft-ish spring as there will be next to no weight on the rear of the car and i would like it to have a fair amount of flex.

ive never heard of any issues when extending a coil spring.
so you just need a long spring with a light rate?, so what about hi lift springs to suit a coily sierra or wrangler.
