4.2 Idler pulley bearing

Post by noodle »

Hi all.

The bearing in the idler pulley on my GU 4.2 is grinding intermittently.
Ive heard of some cheap fixes for the ZD30 but not the 4.2. I imagine nissan would charge a fortune for one.

Anyone know of a cheap fix ?

just pull it off and you can press the bearing out, if you dont have a press then you can use some sockets and a vice. Then take the bearing to a bearing shop to match it up and it should only cost you $5 - $10

i replaced mine bout 6 months ago. Forget the bearing size but was under 3 dollars and took about 10 mins to change over... from turn car off to turn car on.
