Should I TWin Turbo my 60?

Post by dexter09 »

Hi guys i have a HJ62 with a 2H in it, i picked up a tiwn turbo setup off a 1G-GTE lexus, they are twin CT12's how does everyone think it'll go with them on it, i just want the turbos to boost up early but still be able to hold out the rev range? and do i need to change the head gasket to a steel one if i want to run 12 odd psi?

I said yes simply because it's not my engine, I'm not paying and dont have to live with the results :finger:

If it's just power you want go for it and see what happens, but I wouldn't be planning any desert crossings in it if I was doing something like this myself.

one on the roofrack will cover the 3-10k rpm

and one mounted on the diff will cover about 700rpm through to 4krpm

I voted no because it is a waste of time but hey it's your car, if you can make it work then at least it will be unique.

head gasket will be fine with 12psi if you (a) intercool (b) install an exhaust pyrometer and pay attention to it.

do you have the skillz to build custom manifolds etc?
