i learnt the hard way also and wasnt pullin hard either. I tried to pull a small tree out of the ground at home using the front loop and well you can see the result.

I have used that little loop in the past, and will use it again in the future.
They were using a winch extension strap or the like in that video. and shock loading it, little wonder stuff broke.
