where else could it be leaking

Post by matthewK »

i got a really really slow oil leak on the right hand side of my 1996 disco
where its dripping off is 2 small pips where the bolt either side of the oil filter i can sort see some on the side of the bottom of the head

i just replace rocket cover gaskets where it was flowing out as the bolt were finger tight

and im having a really really bad time with the spark plug leads i just cant work it out, iv been reading a manual < discovery workshop manual>
putting it in the right orientaion but the motor just keep turning

can somone shed some light on this, im getting to the point where im going to pay some mechanic far too much to come to my house to fix the problem

id even thinking about chucking a 6pack of jim beam or jack dsw to fix the problem

If you have a manual its pretty easy, line up TDC using timing marks and romove no 1 plu to check its at tdc, put a lead on number 1 cyl and start from there going clockwise around the cap in the firing order.

put the motor on TDC and then set up the leads Clockwise 1 2 7 5 6 3 4 8

number 1 piston is R/H side front (stand in front of motor / air cleaner side)

cylinders are arranged , Passenger side 1, 3, 5, 7.
drivers side, 2, 4, 6, 8.
