My first serious damage.. first trip out after i changed the diff oil too! i was punishing it really bad on a knarly track but thought the H233b's were stronger than this! any ideas on why this happened?

condition the diff was in prior to the thrashing also comes into play.

ive been informed the nissan diffs while strong aren't assembled too well and really need to be pulled out and tightened up after a few uses.

dont know how accurate that is though

Spider/sun gears break because of to muck wheel spin. In an open diff all of the drive is being directed to the spinning wheel through the spider gears. that wheel grabs a rock and cruncho.

not an oil issue, as said above can be from over spinning or picking up a wheel and dropping it.

I've got a complete H233b centre sittin in the shed if you want it....am bayside too.
Check under for sale, GU diff centres.
Cheaper than rebuilding yours i bet.
