Guys,
bought some diff breathers for the zook. How the hell do i fit them.
The only part im confused with is how to put the fitting into the actual diff. Do i have to get a thread tapped or what? see pics of the kit below.
94 zook, 2" body lift, 30.5" bfg muddies, custom bar, warn 8000, 240 XGT's, extractors and 2" exhaust.
looks similar to mine but i didnt get the extra bits in the bag i spent about 2 hours gettin the tube over the diff outlet on the front diff and havent got the rear on yet

Checked to see if they are still there?
Garden hose isn't designed for the environment under a car, as well as being stiff and bulky. I've seen lots of broken sierra diff breathers, generally with large diameter, PVC hose like garden hose.
I tap the breather to 1/8" BSP, run a brass elbow on, and then use fuel line.
Neat and reliable.

that looks like standard air fittings (macroline)... i'd tap/thread the breather hole and use loctite to seal the thread - thread tape is terrible for falling off into things, perhaps not so bad on a diff, but for air stuff can cause issues. Once you've done that and screwed in the fitting run plenty of hose up and out of the way making sure it wont get snagged on anything, stretched from flexing or melt on the exhaust etc.

Also how do you guys fill transfer case or diff with oil....syringe? because it takes bloody ages!!
Any tips?
Normally with an oil pump yes. Have done diffs without but it's slow and annoying. Other option with the transfer is through the floor with the shifter removed.

Apart from extending a small section of hose when i lifted it, all i had to do was add a set of filters on the end to stop crap getting in.
bugden - sierra's only have caps on the diff housing.
I'm pretty sure the vitara breather on the rear diff only goes to chassis height.
