Either way, 6th overall is a fantastic effort by the guys.

Congratulations Darren & Wayne, a great effort for your first time, a well deserved placing.

Congrats to Krim and wayne.. good effort boys.

Where's bob?

Muppet came 13th outright and the truck is rooted!...
That was huge.. what an event.. i think i've had 20 hrs sleep since last friday. It was full on..
I'm at the airport awaiting the plane home, i'm stuff and i can't be bothered with pics.. maybe later..

All sorts of stuff. We knew the truck wasn't well suited being a winch challenge truck but it was the best way to have a crack at the event to see what it was all about.
Ultimately you'd build a truck from scratch. The OBC or Cliff hanger is not a patch on the stress the safari puts on a car.

Tyres, suspension, driveline and panels suffered the worst... Engine still pulls strong

Most of Darren's issues related to not listening to the navigator, road goes right over crest...
The car had very few problems, which is a great testament to how well it was prepared. We broke 2 engine mounts, one item we ran out of time to change before hand.
We used up a few sets of brake pads, need to carry more in the future.
The exhaust wasn't up to the job and needs slip joints and spring retainers to keep it together in the future, this was a problem as it was hard to hear the radio which may have contributed to the tap tap
The panels are looking a bit more stream lined, and overall the car is a few inches narrower than before, makes it easier to fit between the trees, of which there where allot. Some stages had a full tunnel effect in the trees with branches brushing both sides and occasionally the roof (look out Bob), we lost both side mirrors, and they where turned in at the time.
Wheel bearings needed adjustment every few days, which is to be expected.
The car held up really well, and was much faster than allot of the really fancy/expensive machines through the roughest stuff, I think the Outback experiences helped there.

Hey Wayne and Darren well done, good to see the truck held up. In all sounds like a hoot. Would have been a great experience hope you guy continue on with the success in the next one's.

Fun's an understatement... We all had a ball. Even the Man wrestling was enjoyable... until someone touched in the wrong places.. Wayne
