Aint gonna happen, a Hilux can't be that lucky twice :P

I am still surprised that we can't find a Landcruiser or Patrol to match it with the big boys ( Hilux and Jeep) :P :P :P in the modified section.

By the way, I really enjoyed the video, even though it showed the Jeep winching out of the bog.

Shane
I hear a certain Landcruiser owner has just purchased a POOOOOTROL as a play toy, so watch out Shane.
Yeah I heard, I told him to find some stock sized mud tyres because he wouldn't be able to mix it with the Jeep and Hilux :D :D :D :D :D in the modified section.

Shane
quotes like this should make round 3 very interesting

Forget about the 4runner, theres a fair chance a sertain unlocked surf will take it out.

team Pile may have all cars in the event.

Looks like I wouldn't be in your class anyway ...... think 35's and 2 lockers put me in in the next one
there could be a modified class to run 35s, im not shore yet.
run 33s and dont use ya lockers or pop an lsd centre in the rear for the comp.

Thay may let you run with 33s , but the lift could be the problem for you and me.
The diffs and engine are fine.
The challenger’s vehicles will be required to meet the following long list:
1. Standard Factory model can have all terrain or mud tyres with a 100 point penalty for a 2 inch lift.
2. Slightly modified vehicle. (Honesty will be required)
· Can have tyres to size 33inch
· 3 inch lift maximum
· 1 form of traction aid (locker,lsd)
3. The vehicle is whatever you want as long as it’s registered. A roll cage will be required for some bonus point sections.
4. Must carry a minimum
· 1 winch (hand or electric)
· 1 tree trunk protector
· 4 rated shackles
· 1 winch dampener
· 4 rated snatch traps
· 1 winch extension strap
· Recovery points must be on the front and back of the vehicles.
5. The limit on the vehicles is they can only enter in three monthly challenges. As there is six monthly challenges we can help provide vehicles for the clubs who would like to compete but can’t make up the numbers. There will be a small penalty for clubs who use the help vehicles. The penalty could be the vehicle that is going to help. For the larger clubs who have the numbers there can be two teams entered.
Points system - The points are simple and will be displayed on contestant board. Points will be awarded to the best club cheerleading group supporting their team. Best dressed club will also be awarded points.
Special note - As this is a fun event, all drivers must be comfortable with driving the various tracks. There is no pressure to drive the tracks if the driver feels they don’t have the skill or feel their vehicle might experience damage that they are not willing to accept. If a vehicle pulls out for any reason there will be a minor penalty. The remaining vehicles that continue from that point will only be awarded with 2/3rds of the points they achieve from the section the vehicle pulls out.

It was talked about over a few beers at the last event.

I will be hitting Brendan up for a rule change in the slightly modified section.

In the rules you can run one traction aid, either locker or LSD. There is a massive difference between LSD and locker so I think we should be allowed one locker and an LSD. What do you guys reckon?

your right they are different.
a proper working LSD is better than a locker.
but no, lsd 's and lockers are equal. not quite as efective as one another but still the same.

LSD
MECHANICAL
AIR or
WELDING

all the same thing, they lock the wheels one way or another for better or worse to gain traction.

your LSD can lock the wheels?? or not freely spin them??
than that is classed as a traction aid

Very Funny. So that is 2 people's opinions who are double locked in Outlaw class. Why don't both of you put 2 STOCK Hilux/Landcruiser limited slip diffs in your vehicles and see how you go against lockers. ARB have wasted their time selling lockers all these years.

I am after the opinion of those people who run in this class. (Those who agree with me :D )

If you have a Patrol or Jeep with no lockers but a decent limited slip quite often the next logical thing is to get a locker up front. However at this stage we have to pull out the limited slip and fit a locker to be on an even playing field. I thought others would have this in mind. If not then so be it.

No way, a traction aid is a traction aid. You'll still have dual wheel drive with either an LSD or a locker. If you change the rules its an uneven playing field for that class because if u have an LSD and a locker you've got a second traction aid up front - not everyone has a second traction aid. If anyones running an lsd i guarantee its shimmed. Maybe have a huge penalty for the use of the second locker?

Or run 35" tyres and step up a class

STOP THE TEARS!!!!!

I personally think the rules that stand are great.
if i were to use front locker as well as have rear lsd
then how fair is it to the bloke who has front locker AND OPEN REAR?

LSD, LOCKERS OPEN OR WELDED AT THE END OF THE DAY IT COMES DOWN TO DRIVE RIGHT CHOOSE THE RIGHT LINE FOR YOUR CAR

This is easilly one of the best comps going around rules are sweet just add the mod class for 35's and leave it

BUT IF YOU WANT TO RUN 2 FORMS OF TRACTION CONTROL IN THE JEEP I PERSONALLY DONT CARE (IT AINT GOING TO HELP THE JEEP!!!)

It is quite obvious the class caters for people that may not have looked at or known of lockers, open to a group of 4x4ers who dont want to spend massive amounts of money on lockers and lift.

to run 33's on most cars you will lift at least 2inch and most come standard lsd rear so basically you end up with slightly moded
which caters for people new to 4wding and people who have daily drivers or people who dont want to spend massive amounts of money .

Once again great comp, great rules, great park
keep it as is and support the rules rather then tearing up

make it easy for brendan and the other people behind the very fun event and park that they supply all us 4wheelers

Mine has a locked rear and limo front Shane so get ya facts straight.

You got it right when you said you want opinions of "those who agree with you". When you post something such as this on a public forum then you have left yourself open to the opinions of every member , not just those you wish to hear from.

If you kept up with the comp scene you would be aware of how many comp trucks are now front and rear limo's.They have gotten extremely popular as they have a little bit of give and save axles and CV's as opposed to lockers which have no give at all
