1.3 sierra tappet adjustment

Post by islandvitara »

so ive got the camshaft cover off, spark plugs out..now..

i need to set the no.1 cylinder at top dead center on compression stroke - manual states that turn the crank shaft and line the notch up with 0 on the cover, no.1 and no.4 rocker arms should be tight with no movement..

no.1 rocker arm is firm, no.4 is loose, and exhaust is looser than intake?!! is this normal? i rotated the crankshaft 360 degrees and lined it up with the 0 again n checked the 1 and 4 rocker arms and no.1 is loose and 4 firm...but no.1 rocker arm isnt as loose as no.4 when i forst checked it...

is no.4 rocker way out?

wat to do? im good with mechanical things juz need a lil guidence - i can do this lol

Good work, is satisfying to figure it out and get it working yourself.
