I have just purchased a Jimny in Tasmania and plan on driving it around Australia, slowly. Does anyone know how you can get around not having a garage address or a residential address in Tasmania without registering it in another state?

Mudbits - Do you have a friend/relative in Tas you can change your address to? That way they can forward you your mail as well.

I saw your reply as being totaly relavant. You may not have answered his question totaly but at least you made it clear that there must be some way to do this as it happens all the time. I have also sold vehicles to backpackers and they have somehow transfered the rego into their names.

I did have a vehicle in Queesland once but didn't need to prove an address like you seem to in Tassie.
