We average around 16-20 cars and hope for around 5 cars in each class. The standard class has 7 confirmed
The modified class has 5 confirmed
The outlaw and highly modified has 5 confirmed with 4 driving if their cars survive this weekends comp.
This is the best field so far as usually we only have 6-7 confirmed before the weekend.
The interesting thing is it's Toyota's, Landy, Suzzi's and a Jeep in the harder 3 classes. Nissans where are you all.

AngyElmo what do you drive?

The best thing everyone needs to remember is this is a challenge in nature. The first and most important rule is all spectators and drivers have fun.

We have a number of challengers who have only just taken up the 4wding sport so I would like to see the more experienced driver talking to them like last months challenge. This is what has made this event a success. I continually have positive comments about the social feel.

I have also been asked by a man and his partner if they can join a group for camping on the Saturday night. He will be competing in the highly mod section. If you don't mind them joining please let me know and yes they are normal people.

I will be marking the tracks tomorrow with my blue car.

We have four cars coming out 2 standard 1 slight mod and 1 mod
with another three waiting to decide wether to spectate or compete
either way they will be there by the way is the two whell acess good for lower cars (the suzuki swift made it out the 4wheel acess)

How can you have an OUTLAW vehicle and ?"REGO"? legally in Qld.
IMO Illegally Regestered vehicles in Qld are not helping our cause to keep 4wding such a great sport. And as such, organisers should not be encouraging IT. MTCW.

Do a little research before you spout off dude. My truck is completely legal to drive in queensland and is fully registered/engineered. I went to a lot of trouble to set it up so i can easily swap tyres and springs to drive on road. MTCW in response to your TCW

edit: :D :D forgot to add these myself.

Thankyou for your opinion.
The outlaw class stage is helping promote the sport of 4wding and we have been moitoring this at the past challenges. I liken them to the V8 series that premotes the legal holden and ford standard road driving cars.
The people who own these cars put a lot of time and money into the cars to provide hours of entertainment for spectators and are prepared to damage their cars to help grow the sport.

We will not be changing the format as having standard cars drive in the same event as the outlaw class has been a success thus far.

Thankyou for all the cars that have supported this event to date and we look forward to the contining growth of the challenge.

dck7aok I look forward to meeting you on Saturday to discuss ways we can improve this event. I'll be able to meet for 10mins at 8:40am. It's a busy day for me so I am sorry I can't talk for any longer than that.

Outlaw class. If you check the Scenic rim website it tells what is allowed in each class.

He will have the choice to go highly mod or outlaw as his car has a roll cage.
Just remember if you don't want to drive it and are not confident then don't drive it.

Hope Matt doesn't get used to that drivers seat, He should have no worries though in that navi seat, other than having to be in a jeep
I'll think Matt will take it easy on the Jeep. The less he breaks, the less to fix. .
Have a good weekend boys.
Greg.
They cracked the steering box this morning in the Logan Challenge. Shane phoned us and he was on his way to Brissy to get another on. Worst thing about driving a jeep, not many spare parts at a comp. :)
so it was a steering BOX
i spoke to andrew and he said it was a drag link that broke.
cant expect much. it is only a mall cruiser with bar work and a lift kit :finger: :finger:
It was the steering box that broke. I drove the Jeep into a creek with a big rock in it which sheered the box just above the pitman arm.

We named our team, Team Carnage and we finished 5th overall which we are happy with since we had an unlocked GU wagon on 33's, an unlocked Jeep on 32's and a locked GU Ute on 35's and we spent the best part of Saturday down a vehicle which gives us an 80 point penalty before we start.

I drove the Jeep like I stole it and the boys in the team helped put it back together to keep it on the road (Offroad).

So will the Jeep make it this Saturday? I think so........ hopefully.

I won't have window nets, and it's up to the organisers to decide if my tray counts as a roll bar or not. I have no internal cage so it's a grey area and i don't want brendan putting himself into a legal grey area.

Can anyone tell me if i can get window nets that don't require modifications or drilling mounts into the door? I don't mind having nets but i've got no intention of drilling or putting studs into my door.

Thanks for the offer 11_evl, tho with other family and work commitments plus having no shed/lighting to do it at night, I don't have the time to do the whole thing twice in 2 weeks, so am going to wait till the axles & hub gears arrive and do it once.
