diesel cab to petrol engine ignition?

Post by smuggler »

I have body swaped from
1987 LN61 IFS 4RUNNER SURF (2LT 2.4L TURBO DIESEL), 5SPEED MANUAL
to
1986 YN60 SOLID AXELL 4RUNNER (4Y 2.2L PETROL), 5SPEED MANUAL

*someone said just change the loom but seems to be a HUGE mess from the petrol wiring (as if previous owner had trouble). Not wanting to disrupt other accessories that may run from the original.

is there a easy way to just pinch wires from the existing diesel ignition wiring?

list of things to do:
WAS 2LT-D NOW 4Y
1) ignition (coil is built into the distributor) 4wires
2) starter motor 2wires
3) alternator (probs use wires from diesel) plug with 3wires + 1wire
4) temperature gauge (I know the old wires from diesel) 2wires
5) oil gauge 2wires
6) fuel gauge (diesle has more wires than the petrol which only has 2wires)
