GQ auto power level

Post by Quadcamshorty »

I am thinking of changing to auto in my gq with a turbo tb42.

What power level do the stock gq auto's crap themselves?

What other options have people gone with?

Whats the cost to mod the stock auto to cope with the power?

Not looking at more than 180kw atw, and not looking to drive it too hard.

Mostly street and camping these days.

cheers.

I have factory Patrol auto with 280 rwkw so make sure it is in good condition, fit a big cooler and it will be fine. I ran mine behind TD42 t I/C 20psi boost etc and it handled that fine as well.

my tb45 just cost $3800 off wholesale automatics for their stage 2 modified auto. not sure of the differences though. my auto only lasted about 6 hours after i wound the boost up to 12psi. it should be making between 180 and 220 rwkw

The 4spds basically the same. But I think the torque converter on the GU is better than the GQ.
