Smoke/exhausting coming out of engine bay

Post by phraze84 »

Hey Guys. Well after not running for 7 or 8 months I finally turned on the feroza. With the radiator back in I thought I should be ok to go. But now ive noticed alot of smoke or exhaust coming out of the engine bay. I think it’s a cracked manifold but haven’t been able to pinpoint it yet.

Is there anything else that it could be before I take the exhaust apart?

Have you got your exhaust manifold cover off? Take out the airfiltration (anything right-side of the radiator) to make it easier to get at the bolts.

Once thats off, you will be able to see if you have any cracks. Mine has 3...

HAHAHA, yeah will do.

Is it possible to weld?

And ive got a shity cover over the manifold, im asuming its a heat shield or something. My mate reacons i can get rid of it. Should i keep it on or is it ok to run without one?

I've got an uncracked manifold sitting in the junk pile - it will be heading for the scrap very soon, so get it whilst its available if your interested.

Its free to a good ( or any.... ) home but you have to take care of the getting bit. ;)
( usual disclaimers )

It seemed like a much better idea when I started it than it does now.
