I was quoted 125 per side, but when i bought them the fellow only charged me 200 for the pair...

I reckon i can make that back pretty quickly once someone breaks one on a club trip and i happen to have a spare one in the car :D

I recall reading that droopypete carries around a spare CV already greased, wrapped in gladwrap, then in rag, then another layer of gladwrap - that sounds like a pretty good plan to me.

When we are on this topic if it is just the bell and not the axle that is damaged can I use a 1 litre in a 1.3? I know they are different sized bells but would they work?
