Or you could get a custom made alloy for half or less depending on who is doing it.

Im in Vic mate, I live near dandenong we have more mechanical businesses than pretty much anywhere else so there easy around here, up where you are though I have no idea. Theres quite a few shops who should be able to make one for you I mean there all going to be custom, just look for someone who can do alloy units for you.

Sorry to steal post.
NutterGq, I understand what you say,and im in the auto(truck) trade.
I have a few freinds and family down your way and its still seems to
be quiet a bit cheaper for the radiato you discribe.
If a alloy unit is approx $700 down thier thats not bad as ive had quotes
for that for a steel job. I know frieght is a factor But if i can get a good alloy one for the above price all i have to do is cover a bit of frieght,(we have ways in the truck game ;) )

Any ideas from anyone would be great.

Ian.

One thing to remember is that the alloy radiators are harder to fix if things go wrong. Maybe an issue for those that do some outback travel.

I ended up using my nissan 2.8td radiator with a 2nd hand ford EL
thermo fan

Total cost was $100 from a wrecker
And it keeps the 454 very cold if not to cold.

So no need to spend big bucks on bling radiators for v8 swaps.
