i have a 92 dual cab hilux with 2in old man emu springs all round and the front is sagging a fair bit and the rear doesnt flex for shit. How have people found the EFS 3in lifted springs is terms of flex and comfort? will it be much better than my current springs in flex and comfort?

they are good on the front... you have to add a few extra springs on the front RHS to stop the sag from the weight of the driver and fuel tank. But these are awsome springs in the front.

The rear are ok, but you have to remove the spring clamps and lighten the packs to get reasonable flex... (they do flex better then standard but could be better)

All in all, the have a good ride and i would recommend but i did change my rear leafs to coils after having the springs for 12months...

Do they still make the 3 inch ones? I was told they only make the 2 inch now could be wrong.
Anyways I put the 2 inch lifted efs springs in the front of my lux about 4 months ago and they are already sagged heaps and bent upwards, heaps worse on the driver side, was told it was a "bad batch of springs made" and getting a new set on warrenty tomorrow but I'm not going to use them.

it depends alot to do with what weight you are carrying, i got them through surperior engineering, and dealing through them meant i told them exactly what i had (winch, bull bar, diesel, duel batteries etc.) and they added the load springs to suit.

To fix the extra lean on the drivers side i cut down a spring outy of the factory front RHS sping and added it to the pack along with the added springs surperior added.

Once i went coils rear i removed the tank on the RHS and put a prado 80L tank under the tray in the centre.. and then removed the extra spring on the RHS (the lean was then gone.

I have been driving for 4 years on the EFS front 3" springs.

79 Series......Pulled out my OME after 3 years of heavy loads & of road... had no flex & ran Polyair Bellows to make things worse but to carry big amounts its needed..
Now all gone & have EFS rear leafs & elite shocks: removed 2nd leaf & had them reset... now excellent compared to before
Front 2 inch longer coils & elite shocks... excellent also & now removed sway bar & huge difference off road ..
Highly recomend.. i dont have any ful flex pics to show you..
look into having them reset which will save you alot of cash...

This is the flex I'm getting in my lux with 2 inch efs front springs, it's got a 2.8 L diesel with a alloy bullbar that's it.

WOW :x ive never seen them in that condition shit thats got to be a bad design fault i recon on toyota's part... surely they should have fixed that by now..

Well lucky for the warrenty I get a new set today, I couldn't believe how quick it took for them to bend, they said it was a bad batch of springs and a couple people have returned them. I'm going to sell the new set, I wouldn't run efs again but that's my bad experience

Just had another look and that leaf pack is very very light on ...
Mine has 7 leafs plus 2 heavy load leafs at the bottom..

Also yours are leaf over axle jobies that gives you more clearance but then there are other problems arising... but if not carrying much weight it should not matter

Thats how many leafs come in the efs spring pack for a diesel hilux i didnt take any out, your truck would be much heavier then mine, i dont carry much weight at all just a alloy bull bar, my old rockcrawler springs had 1 less leaf then the efs spring and they last nearly 3 years without bending.

Hilux's come standard with leaf over axle

Wompy in your second pic your spring perch looks completely farked. Looks like you need to sort that asap.

mine are exactly the same wompy..
i got 4 leaves in the front..

except mine arent efs,dont know the brand i just bought em from tjm in caboolture and took 2 load leaves out..i expected it though cause im getting fairly decent flex out of mine and didnt bother putting bump stops in.i thought that caused it.
no spring clamps either.
mine lasted 8 months maybe longer before doing it..
im not concerned much as im doing ruf soon but still wouldnt mind having good quality springs as i paid a bit of money for em.

anyone know what causes it..

yer I've seen that, I had a look at them when I took the efs springs out and they didn't look as bad anyways I've ordered the classic front lift kit from locktup and I ordered new 3 hole spring perches to come with it.

Yeh it is caused from the springs either being too soft or not enough springs in the pack.

I have duel batteries in the engine bay, steel bull bar, steel side rails+ steps, winch, diesel etc. Superior added a extra load sring on both sides and then i added another spring 300mm long on the drivers side to help with the extra weight on the RHS.

Now they have not sagged in about 4 years of hard driving... and the only thing that limits my flex is the length of the shocks (they get fully extended and fully compressed)

When you change the springs you have to check weather the spring perches are square or weather the outside edges are slightly bent, as this will help them bend, same thing your 'u' bolts need to be tight and a torque rod needs to be used if you have the factory push pull steering.

My springs look like this on full travel up, with shock compressed all the way and bumpstops compressed.
