HIlux radiator replacment
So on top of the grand my timing belt cost me last week, the mechanic showed me a spot where my rad was starting to weep and recommended i replace it.
As just about everything else in the car has been replaced or rebuilt now so I want to keep this car well maintained and ultra reliable.
The car doesnt overheat or haver any other heat based concerns. it is turboed and tows regularly.
My local radiator specialist has recommended i dont go for a new Rad as most of them are rubbish compared to factory oringional. ie this one lasted 20 years but a new one might last 3-4 ish. and dont genera;yy have the same cooling effect as the old copper ones.
next price bracket up and his recomendation is to recore using my existing tanks and staying with 3 core. $530
or go to the extreme of a pwr rad etc $1000 ish.
What are peoples experiences, with cheap new rads v's recored ones?
cheers

from what the mechanic said my core is the problem, and the rad guy said the tanks far outlast the cores.
howesy i will check them out - anyone had one of these for a few years?
Weiner - how on earth did you get a yota genuin for that money? i would do that in an instant. last timei spoke to toyota about a rad they wanted well over a grand.
