Well now the gearbox is back in (long story, got car back on Wed) I am going to try not to jinx myself by saying I WILL be there this time on the 26th.

God its nice having a gearbox that changes gears smoothly and doesnt sound like a bunch of midgets are punching on under your feet with garbage cans..........
If its not upside down and on fire, I'm not trying hard enough.......

That Jeep is too pretty. You will have to enter it into the comp.

I'll say. not a scorch mark to be seen anywhere. must be a rebadged replica or something.

Looks like it's going all right on the rocks though

I am thinking HID spot lights again. Anyone willing to go hard in a stocko deserves a good prize.

Big  to ya mate. Most of us in hardcore wheelers know what we're getting in to and to be fair the kind of stuff we could use on the car isn't really suitable as a prize (unless you want to stump up a set of crawler gears - in which case i'll definately be doing some crowd pleasing to get those) It's good to see the stockers and noobs getting something.

I will be doing a prize or $200 value spent at the shop for all the other classes also. As the comp gets bigger the rest of the prizes will get better.

I thought about it and I can sell you the rope I had aside for my Jeep because the cable on it is quite fine for now. You are looking at $330 for the 10mm X 30 metre rope including the fairlead.

I know the Patrols are a tough vehicle but are they good enough to win in the basic modified or extreme modified sections. So far they are not.

I really do want to purchase another Patrol but I am worried I won't be able to mix it with the other makes including my family car the Jeep Grand Cherokee, or a Hilux 4Runner or Suzuki.

The only thing I can think of is it purchase a Patrol but replace stuff from other vehicles to make it capable. Any advice? :D :D :D :D

A patrol is a patrol. They are very capable with little mods.

A highly modifyed patrol is one that has replacement springs, shocks, panhards and that's about it. Go all out with lots of lift fit some caster plates. Go bigger tyres, fit reduction gears.
You could go from stock to highly modifyed in a weekend with a can of spray lube and a set of spanners.
Most ppl love the bolt on side of things.
I actually like modifying for better of worse, trial and error.

But that's what makes a partol so great/ common. Bolt on and drive the shit of it. Bar it up and it's a comp truck.

Rant over...

11_evl, If your offering 35" Simexes,MMMMMM. But maybe all good.
So does Extreme Modified require nets and helmets, or only if you have a roll cage.

Extreme modified = no nets, no helmet. and require roll cage for bonus lines.

Could be wrong but that is how it has been for the last comp to my knowledge.

as for nets and helmet, as far as i no you dont need unless you will be attempting bonus lines, cage is needed as well.
